Ceramic Cupcakes.

The following ceramic cupcakes were created by Year 8 students of Methodist Ladies College (MLC) , Melbourne, Australia.

They were constructed in clay, fired and then glazed.

The works show a clear understanding of methods and techniques of ceramic construction using clay and methods of glazing and firing. All of these skills are demonstrated in the works included here as well as the imagination and the individuality of the students.

If you have ceramic or other works you would like to exhibit here online, please contact me using the addresses outlined under Contact Max, or leave  a message below.

The images may take a minute to download. Click onto the arrows to left and right of the images to progress or return through the works.

This morning My Year 8 students from Felltimber have utilised these photos to gain ideas for their food task. The group of boys were very intersted in the cup cakes and the quality of the work. When I checked later they were investigating cup cakes on other sites without direction from me. At the end of the lesson we looked at your examples and dicussed possibilities for design. It will be interesting to compare the student outcomes with the other class who completed their designs in my absence.

Hi, I’m glad you found them. I work from time to time with some of the staff at MLC and visit regularly and Mrs. Tooke let me photograph them last year when I was there. If any of you don’t want them on my website I’ll take them off immediately. I thought they were so good it would be nice to share them with other people interested in student art. I’m happy to include names if you’d like. Max

Hi, I go to MLC and was a part of these creations last year. May I ask how you go a hold to them? A lot of these belong to my friends/classmates this year, and last. I understand that they were on display, but I just find it interesting that through the power of google, I managed to find a whole bunch of images of our work.
