Rectangular 3D Designs.

These photographs were taken by Max Darby In Canberra in October, 2012.

Interesting relationships between a common rectangular shape have been explored in this Hotel interior roof hanging. The rectangles are suspended from the 6th floor level and hang down about 4 levels. The moving arrangements change regularly as the wind blows through the area and as the viewer moves along the balconies changing the angles they are all seen. As can be seen in one photograph, the shapes also create interesting moving shadows on the walls behind them.

There are about 1000 rectangles for each floor level

Such a suspension provides many interesting ideas that students can use to inspire moving works of art and/or design.
