Pinch Pot Cars

The colourful cars below were made by a Level 2 class at Wanganui Park Secondary College using the pinch pot method of clay construction. The cars were individually designed and based on car images students had collected. Two pinch pots were joined together and then the resulting sphere was shaped into the vehicle designed. This is a challenging task given the centre is hollow once the two pots have been joined.  Hand painted details were added using water-based paints. The cars were then lacquer finished.
